“A Soggy Sunday”

Having spent the summer dodging the blazing sun and typical afternoon thunderstorms,  we had grown tired of our “indoor activities ” checklist. We had bowled, skated, crafted, baked, visited the science museum, shopped,  and watched numerous movies. So, when faced with a rainy Sunday,  the well of ideas had run dry. It was time to get creative and think out of the box. Then, an idea! What about an outdoor activity with an indoor spin? Drive Shack for the WIN!

Drive Shack turned out to be the perfect rainy-day activity. The light and bright golf center was the perfect juxtaposition for the dark and gloomy day. The bays boasted comfortable couches and the much-needed cover to protect against the elements. The staff was friendly and helpful as we needed both left-handed clubs as well as kids’ clubs. Since neither Delaney nor I are really golfers, we enjoyed the golf games which added a fun element to the otherwise mundane club swinging of a standard driving range (sorry, probably not a popular viewpoint). In addition, they offer a nice selection of both adult and kid-friendly beverages as well as a snack menu. Cheers to golf over bubbles!

While it’s a fun way to spend an afternoon regardless of weather, I really enjoyed my rainy afternoon there. There aren’t too many options to spend a lovely afternoon outside in the rain, but we found an excellent one!
