When the weather dipped down into the high 70s this am, the first thing on my mind was SWEATERS!!!!!!! Maybe a bit of an overkill, but you have to take what you can get in South Florida. So, let’s talk sweaters! Sweaters are unique as they can be worn on their own or paired with almost any bottom. They really are a fashion category all on their very own. With so many styles to choose from, it’s almost dizzying. Let’s break it down and walk through my favorite sweater styles.
The Maxi Duster Cardigan
This style exudes coziness and scores major points for versatility. I love this look styled in three different ways. The first option is to keep it cozy and wear it with leggings and a tank top. Second, you could make it casual, but chic by pairing it with distressed jeans and a t-shirt. Third, you could dress it up and rock it with a short, straight skirt and boots. There are so many great options!
Turtlenecks
Are turtlenecks making a comeback? You bet! I mean, they are a timeless and preppy style. Plus, they have the added benefit of keeping your neck warm! I am really loving this modern twist on the classic style. The detailed peplum silhouette from BCBG is sure to turn heads. I envision it with slim-fit jeans, hair swept up, and oversized earrings. Another style option is to give this preppy look a little edge by pairing it with leather pants.
The Batwing Sweater
The Batwing is one of my favorites as it adds just the right amount of drama to give you a styled, polished look. It can be worn as a cardigan or in the standard sweater shape. The only caveat to this fab style is it needs to be worn with slim-fit jeans or leggings and a form-fitting top. Otherwise, it can come off as bulky and weigh you down.
The Sweater Dress
Sweater dresses really top the list for me. I love, love, love them! You can choose from short and chunky to long and slim and everything in between. They can be worn with any footwear from booties all the way to over-the-knee boots depending on hem length. Sweater dresses can also be casual or dressed up. I’m also a big fan of coordinating them with bright tights to combine some of the hottest fall trends. The styles are truly endless! They check off all the boxes for fall fashion.
The Fishnet Weave
I love all the 80s vibes this style brings. It is a fun and funky look sure to add a sassy twist to the classic sweater. It is the perfect lightweight sweater for Florida winters or it could be layered up to become more suitable for colder climates. It is a great accompaniment to almost any bottom. This style is sure to turn some heads.
With all of these amazing options and more, you really just can’t go wrong with a sweater and a PSL when the temperatures start dropping.
