Shoes could arguably be one of the great loves of my life. That combined with what boots are hot for fall? This might just be my favorite subject of all time. “Falling” back into boots brings with it the elusive combination of comfort and style. This season’s lineup of boots does not disappoint either. Styles from slouchy thigh highs (my personal fave) to lace-up combat boots and everything in between will bring the heat to your favorite fall styles. As timeless and classic as boots are, prepare yourself for the modern twists this season has to offer. Starting with my top pick, the 5 hottest fall trends are:
Slouchy thigh highs
Hands down, my favorite look for fall. This season’s wider silhouette allows for more versatility. It waters down the provocative undertones allowing this style to transcend from predominately an evening style into a daytime one. I love these boots paired with a sweater dress or as an edgy accessory to the otherwise conservative skirt and blazer combo. While still a top contender for evening looks, they can also turn any dress into a glamorous showstopper.
The Foldover boot
My second favorite is the foldover boot. It is a fun new twist to my “go-to” mid-calf boot. It adds a little something extra without pushing you too far out of your comfort zone. To avoid looking bulky or bottom-heavy, I prefer the stiletto heel to the wedge for this style. I love this look for higher hemlines, jeans, and would even sport it with shorts and a cropped jacket.
Riding Boots
A classic and timeless staple for any closet. This is such a great boot because it can be worn with pretty much anything and will almost never go out of style. I especially love it with skinny jeans or a pair of leggings. It’s the epitome of all cozy fall styles.
Lace-up Combat boots
These boots are bold, defiant, and just plain cool. While the quintessential black combat is still popular, I am really into the lighter-shade alternatives. Either light or dark, you can’t go wrong with this look. I am a big fan of wearing them with midi skirts, floral prints, and flowy hemlines. I love the contrast and play of masculine versus feminine.
Cowboy Boots
While not my own personal style, cowboy boots are undeniably hot this fall. They are literally EVERYWHERE. They are very versatile and can complement almost any style. You can choose to go with bold prints and colors as a statement piece or opt for the more classic black and brown variations. Cowboy boots are a great choice for dresses, jeans, skirts, or shorts. The possibilities are truly endless.
All in all, you can’t go wrong with any (or all) of these fabulous fall styles!
